The guy i bought the bike from has now given me a box of what he calls"spare bits" and guess what was in there??
Shimano 600 derailleur ( perfect working order) the original one that he'd swapped for the MTB mech so that he could select that huge 34t rear cog. Also in the box was the 8 speed cassette and 3ttt ergo vue bars and a black quill stem still with cougar decal on it.
All i need now to complete 600 ultegra groupset is the STI levers.
Argos has quoted me £245 for a complete respray as original complete with all decals 4-5 week turn around.
I'll stick with the Mavic open pro wheel set that i have once they've been trued.
