The I in the dropout indicates that it was welded by Ivo Vinklarek ( the same guy in the signature on the decal near the seatpost ); mine was welded by Don Herr.

Frame period is 1993 / 1994

Here´s some info I´ve posted in the mtbr forum:

And here´s the latest update of my F-12:

Many thanks Maxchc, some great info .
I'd gathered the I on the dropout was the builders initial but didn't know if there was any way to identify the year? Only thinking that mine has the riveted cable stops on the top tube and haven't seen that on anything else I've managed to find thus far. Still, I'm not too worried. It's a gorgeous frame and just looking forward to getting it built!

Cheers

Well a little update....

Got everything together to start putting the bike together. As usual for me mainly modern (sorry purists  ), with some retro gold thrown in...

Freshly painted Topline cd cranks & Middleburn rings:

Hope Hoops Pro2 wheels. The lightest choice and fine running with a 2b Therapy rear disc conversion. Not what I really wanted to do as it's not pretty but didn't want to mix and match wheels and brakesets:

Brakes (love the TRP Carbone levers):

Thumbies mated with M970 XTR:

And a bit of carbon:

Saddle prob won't be final choice but will decide later.

And some red thrown in for good measure:

Should be done by next week

Many thanks  ... It's almost done! All cabled up and just gotta get the steerer cut down Saturday morning. Hopefully will take it for it's maiden voyage on Sunday :D.... Pics to follow Sat / Sun
