Cheap and Nasty

So a mates just picked this up for me. Dobt laugh.
I got it mainly for the bars but he seems to think its quite light for a old MTB (he does ride old shopping bikes so his idea if light might be slightly twisted) and he suggested it might be 531.
No makers decals just the name Magnum???
What size is the seat tube on a 531 bike... Is it the same as 531 road bike?

this is indeed a bit interesting...
just not sure on the drive train, this looks like cheap ofmega or other low performing parts.
Also, some of those bullmoose bars don't have an 1" quill, but just ~21mm, so don't fit well without hacks to regular MTBs.

Peugeot but also other brands like Mondia had models named "Magnum".

Please keep us informed what you will do with it, and maybe show a few more pics once you have received the bike.

Google Image Search thinks it's a Raleigh, which is interesting, seems they did make several bikes with that name. Which may not be saying much; back in the 80's, anything or anybody could potentially be called "Magnum" for marketing purposes. Margaret "Magnum" Thatcher, for example.
