Chainring!

Hi Guys,
Quick question. Would you say the large chainring is still usable or should it be replaced? (I know it's a cheapo & riveted together) overhauling a bike for a friend who surprisingly enough doesn't want to spend a lot of money on it!
Cheers
G.

A rider who doesn't want to spend much will normally put up with the chain running a touch loose on a chainring, and the front mech will stop most accidental derailment. This one doesn't look shark-finned either. So personally I'd call it "still useable" for the unfussy and non-competitive cyclist.

It might be OK with the original chain but a new chain may skip. Who knows?
The chain is knackered so I'm fitting a new one anyway, soon find out!
