I recently picked up a bargainous 2008 Caffeine F3 (£70!), but the Super Fatty Ultra DLR fork has been abused by the PO.
It looks like when the bottom headset bearing went, they used a metal hammer on the steerer and mangled it.
I've tried reshaping it gently, but it's been ovalised and the threads are smooshed where the cap screws in.
The fork is insanely light and I really want to get it back to fighting fitness - does anyone know if the steerer is available as a spare part anywhere or does anyone have a knackered or broken fork I can strip for the part?
Failing that, one that I can borrow to get the thread measurements to possibly get mine re-machined?
