Yes, that's why Knighter has been World and British champion multiple times. His late father (who was a friend of mine from when we were at junior school together) was a damn fine trials rider, certainly better than I ever was.
He died a few weeks before David gained his first World Championship title, I still like to think that he's incredibly proud of what his son has achieved.
