The hydraulic look good but tend to be a bit off and on when braking in the wet so on that bassis alone i'd stick with the Vs tbh mate ..

I'm trying to find a 950xtr groupset but have some of the parts already. Need the crank, mechs and cassette. Will the ig work with my XT Thumbshifters? I'm happy to stick with 8 speed cassette but don't want to loose my thumbies.

Ah, I suspect you have my hubs.
I have cranks, various mechs but no casette I'm afraid. also shifters on their own or STIs in 8sp and 9sp flavour if your interesed
Let me know what size front mech you are after I can ping you over some photos.
