This is kind of a quest to find the most unbreakable retro frame and part. We've all broken something, so lets stick it on this thread.

I've broken and witnessed:

Ringle skewers
Kona FireMountain frame (1989)
Avocet Saddle
Avocet Cycle computer
X-Lite first generation purple L bend bar ends
XT rear shortcage mech
Araya RM20 rear rim
Nukeproof rear hub
XTR M900 shifter pods
DX rapidfire pods
Orange forks from a clockwork
X-Lite Titanium bars - theyve bent!
Numerous old school BBs - shimano (bearings exploded)

Used to see loads of broken Pace RC35s They had a real nasty habbit of pulling the steerer tube out of the crown and then bending them bigstyle if you stacked them.

Dave Yates frame.... (snapped at braze between head tube and top tube). Bike was seriously abused though!
RC130 bar (again after crash)
X-Lite Ski-bends. Bent 2 pairs of them, without crashing...
Hope rear axle. Snapped 2
Araya RM 20. Dinged...
Araya RM17 - buckled.... (2 pairs!!= 4 rims...)
Mavic 517- - wore rim through very fast.
WCS Z-max (´brown") - very thin sidewalls ripped open.
Flite saddles - about 5....
Headsets - Everything I had with conventional bearings...
Record OR cantilevers. - flimsy spring housings.
XT Rapidfires (Original push-pull version) - exploded under use.
Original SPD pedals - ditto
XT-737 rear mech - 2. Wore springs out.

Otherwise pretty much nothing.... I'm not particularly heavy on kit....

Here we go (in chronological order)...

Suntour X-Press shifters
Suntour XCE rear derailleur
Avanti Ridge Rider forks (bent)
Nishiki Ariel forks ('90 model)
DX long cage rear derailleur
DX front derailleur
DX 'push-push' shifter (rear)
DX B/B
DX h/set
Araya RM20 (wore it out)
DX freehub body
Rock Shox RS-1 fork brace (bent)
Araya RM400 Pro (pair. Squashed them with HS33's)
M900 rear derailleur
M900 rear derailleur tension pulley
Avanti Lightning frame
Control Tech Ti bars (3 pairs)
Kalloy pillar
Ringle' 'Ti Bolt' seat pillar clamp (split in half)
Araya RM395
Answer Hyperlites (bent)
AMP F1 fork (bushes and damper thru-cartridge)
AMP B2 rear shock
AMP B2 chainstay (cracked)
AMP B2 main frame (banana'd the seat tube some how)
Ritchey Vantage Comp (pair)
About 10 Rock Shox Judy damper cartridges
About 3 pairs of Rock Shox Judy staunchions
Stacks of tyres (too many to mention. Mainly cut side-walls)
Fox Alps 4 (x 2)
Ringle' Super Duper Bubba rear hub
Spin tri-spoke rear wheel (dented rim)
About 4 Selle Italia Flite saddles (torn, bent, broken)
M950 rear derailleur
M952 rear derailleur
Ringle' Ti Stix (broken cam lever)
Dura-Ace 8 & 9 speed chains
Manitou X-Vert DC (broken slider bridge, damper shaft)
The list goes on...

I'm sure there's a lot more but I can't think of anything at the moment.

Holy crap! I didn't realise I was such a wrecker!

Had one of the first generation Whyte bikes on loan from a shop, it snapped when I rode it into a tree. Took it back to the shop and said there was something wrong with it and made a quick exit.

Managed to blow the shock and crack the swingarm on a Mongoose Amplifier - racing XC. It was supposed to be a team DH bike!

Just a few that spring to mind:
XT RF 'Push-Push'
DT RF 'Push-Push'
XT RF 'Push-Push'
I think the innards must've been made from porcelain! :p
Hope ti-glide flange
Pace RC35AB stancion
Proflex 855 Swingarm clamp
Uno Kalloy bar (what was I thinking?)
Titec Carbon 'post
USE titanium 'post

early STX cranks (threads)
many many LP26 BB's
a set of dia-compe 986 (rounded the spring adjusters)
numerous bolts, rounded

ham-fisted maintenance has been responsible for a lot of my killing rather than hardcore riding action

Not many frame killers on here then? I think maintenance errors (i. thread screw ups, rounded bolts) wont qualify. Ive screwed a good few bits up using bad tools myself...

Im kinda looking at "product failiures". I.e snapping and exploded stuff...
