Broken Retro thread....what have you broken?

Most recently died in my charge first:

XT RF+ (Push pull) 2007
X-Lite Alto Pro bar ends (hairline crack around clamp weld) 2006
Dyna Tech 625Ti road bike (shifter boss came unglued). Now repaired and still in service. 2006
Sedis SL chain, craked all over around the pins, would like to think it was down to my power, probably down to not being changed in time! 2005
Numerous cheap Kalloy seatpins, bent. 1994-2005
1 Expensive USE seat pin, bent. 1994
Mavic 117 SUP CD rim, radially built, cracked around the eyeletts. 1994
Blew the air seals on Mag 21 forks. 1993.

Broken bits I have ...

- Coda Magic crankarms; common driveside crack and beginnings of canoe delam
- Magic Motorcycle crankarm, road; very rare but has signs of common driveside crack
- Grafton driveside crankarm; crack at BB
- Nuke Proof hubset; spoke hole failures

...

note the manufacturing method commonality.

ritchey pedals*3
steel trek frame
1990 Klein Attitude (OUCH!)
two seatposts (kalloy and stock 96 Klein post)
couple of chains

Actually not much considering how much I've ridden. There are others but I can't think of them right now.

I've got through 4 freehub bodies in 15 years...suddenly no drive

RapidFire pivot screw fell out...lots of little pieces everywhere in the middle of Kielder Forest.

Bent the gear hanger of my Pine Mountain upside down when heather twigs tangled in the chain...XT mech didn't seem to like it...frame was bent straight with a spanner and lives on.

I'm quite light on components but...

Snapped an XTR bottom bracket (UN91 iirc) axle in half.
Bolts gone on a USE seat clamp, whilst riding... Ouch.
Bearing collapsed on a Race Face BB.
Bent an M739 crank arm
Plenty of spokes gone ping due to wheel/stick interfaces etc

Think thats it.

front wheel swerved to miss back end of a bmw that was pulling out of a side road who thought its only a cyclist and i could see her laughing about it with her mate and hit curb and then old lady at lights who later tried to claim damages against me even though she admited it wasnt my fault. and i had to pay for dental work as chipped a tooth

was worse than this one

BITD broke one ti axle for spd
cracked a 91 Klein frame
pair of 1st generation Rockshock
carbon fiber flite
1990 Muddy Fox bike. Rode it in to the back of a car

How long have you got?

I'll just do the big warranty stuff that I broke BITD.

Trek 8900 frame - the bonded one from 1991 - bent dropout and chainstay
Rocky Mountain Blizzard 1992 - stretched bottom bracket shell
Rocky Mountain Blizzard 1992 - stretched bottom bracket shell #2
Rocky Mountain Blizzard 1994 - cracked seatstay to seat tube junction
Trek OCLV 9900 Pro Issue - 1995 - Snapped off brake boss
Trek OCLV 9900 Pro Issue - 1995 - Bottom bracket fell out, bent dropout.

Ritchey Seatpost 1992 - Best
Control Tech Seatpost 1992 - bent
Syncros Seatpost 1992 - snapped clamp

Syncros Handlebar 1992 - bent

Cane Creek Aheadset - the really expensive one - rusted!

Manitou 3 Forks - stantions worn in 3 months
Manitou X-Vert forks - cracked brace x 3

I only used XT components so other than the odd rear mech and big chainring I didn't actually break much.

The ones I can remember...

Zoom handlebars - bent in crash
'92 Deore LX push push shifters. Disintegrated in 1 month
'92 Deore LX cranks - stripped thread
Mag 10 LT forks - blew seals and pulled brake boss out
Mavic 117 - tacoed after a very heavy stack.
Ritchey Vantage comp rim - cracked
'94 Claud Butler alloy frame (forget model) bent hanger.
XT rear mech - snapped
2000 Giant NRS Air - cracked seat stay

Either mtb stuff is getting stronger, or I'm getting softer with my riding.
