I keep a tank and emersion heater on back up. All i need to do is close a valve on the boiler open another to fill the tank and switch the electric on (or light the fire as it's on a back boiler too). I kept it all in when I fitted the boiler.
Haven't had to use it yet, but nice to know it's there so there is no panic if the boiler packs in

theres three twiddly knobs underneath the boiler - twiddle the middle one and piff paff poof, we have heating and hot water...

concides with a small dribble from the over flow pipe...

That's good news!
I'd get the guy who serviced it back out and see what the F he did to F it up.

good it was a minor thing,Sod £800 replacement costs.
