It's very hard to drop a 27' to 700c with Canti's as much as it is with 700c to 650b which I have tried on my Mercian. It is easier and works better I think with a centrally mounted sidepull as the wheel will usually end up right level with the canti stud which means hard to get any decent leverage.

Cheers for that Jamie, I can narrow down my search to just pukka 700c frames like the Eagle, or possibly a cyclo-cross frame with mudguard eyes.

It can be done i’m Sure of that. Just depends on the drop .
Can always check Sheldon Browns site for measurements. To double check as I haven’t looked too deeply into 27” to 700c
.

Nice rebuild, I had the same but found the BB to be too low for my liking.
