Re:

Worthy winners for sure and on almost any other month the Tush would have got my vote.

Maybe the reason for the low turn out was how late in the month the poll went up? Can't have helped with the numbers. Not a criticism btw as anyone who spends their time administering this place so I can look at it deserve great credit.

My point was more about the volume of entries and enthusiasm in some quarters not really following through to the wider audience. Except there really isn't a wider audience any more. Check out the stats:

Dec-17 122, 2 votes, assume 61
Jan-18, 148, 2 votes, assume 74
Feb-18, 146, 2 votes, assume 73
Mar-18, 120, 2 votes, assume 60
Apr-18, 120, 2 votes, assume 60
May-18, 108, 2 votes, assume 54
Jun-18, 77
Jul-18, 64
Aug-18, 57
Sep-18, 60
Oct-18, 75
Nov-18, 75

And just check out Nov-12 (chosen at random), 1 vote, 227 total.

Que, what's happening with the site, etc. etc. etc.

75 to 227...... pretty damming
Just a thought, since the smart phone revolution (ok it might have started in 2007, but really ramped up post 2010) the power of the phone cameras therefore the size of the photos has grown exponentially.
Therefore, are more people finding the easy post platforms such as Facebook more attractive?

Personally, I find this restriction (pixel/file size) not insurmountable, but a bit boring.
I do think the sooner this gets sorted the better for this forum….

Re:

The Tushingham was the 1st amongst equals imo.
I could just as easily have voted for half the bikes in the list!

Nothing wrong with the quality of the entries for BOTM, they're always top quality. just the site traffic/interest seems to have waned somewhat.

Agree that other platforms Eg Facebook have grown in popularity, so if we want to see Retrobike continue/thrive/grow perhaps we should all be promoting it in a positive light on other platforms too, and add to the RB membership.
Maybe we should all be udong the RB Facebook page/group more?
Photo posting on RB is not hard, but these days everyone wants to instantly upload pics, so a better way of doing this needs to be found imo (it's not just RB though, same is true of many forums).

It’s just the way things are these days. Mobile phones are by far the most common devices for accessing the web these days and, to my knowledge anyway, uploading images to the site aren’t great with a mobile. I’m sure that upgrading the site would increase popularity, though I’m not sure of the effort and cost implications. The German IBC forum is very user friendly and it’s a doddle to add pics from a phone.

On ward an upward in a positive light...

BOTY anyone.....?

I was hoping people had forgotten about that and I could post it up in a couple days without anyone having to remind me

if you need a hand again Adrian, just give us a shout...

Ps, just an idea for a filler month & for fun, how about a "Nil Point" comp? round up all the entries that didnt get a vote last year and give them a second go! :D

FWIW, the home page here and facebook page never being updated cant be helping.
