Bit of help needed

I'd second that. Frankly almost any chainring is usable, I run anything other than Shimano as it's life seems to be sacrificaed for shifting performance. As I still run thumbies, the pickup ramp gubbins is unnecessary as you can trim the front mech.

I have run HG with Campagnolo, TA, Stronglight, Tioga, Blackspire, Raceface, Sugino and Suntour rings. The only thing I notice is that the Shimano ones last least and have the most chainsuck problems.

I used to run an HG cassette with HG chain on my road bike, when the chain needed replacing I found an IG chain I had not used on one of my builds. The bike runs quieter and changes gear smoother with the IG chain fitted :?
