Mongoose by a country mile. Looks like it could be on the start line of an early 90s race.

Thanks for the vote - now at least I won't be shut out :D

Aside from the toe straps, that is exactly how I raced it in the late 80s early 90s. All parts in that photo and build thread are my originals, save toe straps - and I just found those too.

Only 1 of these was one I voted for and won BOTM so that's the one I went for :)

That's interesting - I didn't vote for a single one of these as BOTM, and can't choose between them now; none of them do it for me.

All great bikes though, and all owners should be proud!

Not criticising but just curious , what does do it for you ?
There's no bike at the bottom of your posts , so no way of knowing your tastes .

I have a bias for nevadas clockwork as I think it's stunning in it's build, recovery and end product. It went far beyond bringing it back from the dead as a hobby.

That said..if nevadas was not in it, I would have real trouble choosing as they are all very special in their own way

The bikes I own; Lotus monocoque, Trek OCLV, Alan, Kona fire mountain, but they don't really represent what I do tend to vote for. The main things with this years BOTY is that they're all between 10-2 years too old for me. I got into MTB in 93, and have been fascinated with the development it that point. Januarys BOTM is more up my street!

I must admit I tend to feel the same about the older stuff, I don't connect with it like I do with the 93-97 stuff which was when I was an impressionable yoof getting into MTB

Hence I went for the 94 Kona! (plus I love purple!)

Aye, and I reckon it'll be the Gleiss for me. Love the fat seatstays!

It's between stanlee’s Koski Trailmaster and girlonbike’s 1990 Fat City Team Comp

The Eastcoaster in me knows how I want to vote, but that's a Trailmaster.
