I can't fathom why comments are allowed in the voting thread. I keep coming back, hoping it wont bother me so much, but it always does. Lobby me all you want in the nomination thread, but the actual vote should be a private affair.

Agree 100%

Glad I'm not the only one...

+1

Can the mods do anything on this?

Nice work! I thought it was all just a bit of fun. I like the banter.

Can see the point of a secret ballot though if you get a few sheep.

I suspect it is the constant and tiresome bickering that is being referred to; no harm in showing appreciation to the builder/owner by indicating perhaps where ones vote may have been cast...

...an entirely separate thread regarding the merits thereof when it comes to 'studio' photo's of bikes that look like they never get ridden, those that are built merely for BOTM then broken up and sold, incomplete bikes, etc, etc, perhaps as a 'sticky' even, may help to alleviate the worst excesses?

He said, thereby perpetuating the very thing he's whinging about!

Halaburt,

I take your point, but remember when the poll goes up the nominations thread gets locked. This is why everyone carries on whatever they were involved in in the poll thread.

Leaving the nominations thread unlocked might solve this? I would be happy to remark about which I voted for in the nominations thread, or comment on the results there rather than in the poll thread, which could be free of any comments.

I personally have no issue with the catalogue quality photos.

Swings and roundabouts because plenty seem to be put off the bike by extra 'flashy' presentation. I don't see it affords an advantage, and it is nice to see quality photography, especially when you see someone improvising a budget studio!

Why do you hate freedom?

How about having the commentary migrate back to each individual build thread? Just a thought as it keeps things tidy and relavent to each build

For what its worth I needed headshots of myself for business and got a groupon for $10 to go to a studio so I said heck ill bring the bike. Not to mention that mike's photos of his arc were so inspriational to me that I wanted to build a dual suspension version.
