My LHS is also more worn out than my RHS. I'm write handed so effectively like an indexed front shifter, whilst my left/friction side should really reliable, but it's proven not to be...Er, I think the operators are on average twice as aged and worn out as their components.

The (small) front is on the right of the picture, all the larger "fun" bit is all going on at the back, like a True Mullet.
The mtb mullet is all backwards
