Best Saddle for 1997 Zaskar Build?

I currently have a flite saddle for ny 97 Zaskar build, but what saddles were out there in 1997? I tend to remember i had an x-lite on it at the time, but now I'm trying to keep it all yank/Jap parts but realise for a saddle i might have to go elsewhere.

Any recommendations?

May be a bit early but there are some nice looking Ritchey saddles out there. I'm partial to a X-Lite PSS1 personally as I find them very comfortable, more so than a flite truth be told!

So why not that. Flites, being THE classic saddle, is used in so many builds that anything else is always refreshing.

Is it a show pony or a rider? If the latter, let your arse decide what's best. For my derriere my favourite retro saddle is a wtb sst 2k. Light, ti railed and comfy.

If us or Japanese is your preference no matter what, then I'm thinking, which can sometimes not be a good thing, Tioga, ritchey, bontrager?? Or a period GT saddle.

Flites look great but suit some bottoms better than others, and don't hail from the nations you desire.
