At last! 1992 Raleigh Summit!!

Well, after many weeks thinking that my Raleigh Summit frame I had so very kindly being given from a fellow Raleigh fan, was missing after getting collected by FedEx, look what arrived with me yesterday!

That means I now have all 4 in the 1992 Off Road Series...albeit the Peak and Summit need some finishing!

Well, this week gets better!

Ive managed to sort a set of early Rockshox out for the Summit now! I seem to think that they fitted these to the 1993 model, over the 1992, but I'd love to be proved wrong!

My Summit which I bought in 1994 very discounted from Halfords, had 8 speed DX inc pedals and headset, Zoom post and stem. Had Rigida grey/green anodised rims. I fitted Smoke and darts. Colour matched Titanium bars. Had a Rock shock magnesium which had a special pump, a blunt syringe you inserted into the bung in the top of the fork to pump it up. I fondly remember mine as I rode over a lot of the South Downs on it. Sadly no pictures exist. Mine was a 19". Great find and collection.

I had to get them all together, in a fashion, when I got home from work today...so here we go.

The full 1992 Raleigh Off Road Series line up, January 2023.

Obviously work to do on the Peak, but all parts are there and are currenly being refreshed ready to put back together and cable up and the Summit is well, yeah!...a project for Spring!

Just on the lookout for a 1992 Off Road Series brochure now...
