Hey folks
So I was browsing FB marketplace a few weeks back and noticed this bike. I know of Devinci but have never seen any older bikes in the UK. It looked like it was an aluminium frame with some ‘trash’ components. Rusty chain. Alivio rear. SRAM x3 shifters. Steel candlestick seatpost. Plastic pedals. Shimano tourney front. SR crankset…
But it did have a Pace Rc36. A Chris king headset and a Syncros stem.
I bought it, clearly, but the CK was missing the crown race. The RC36 had a loose star nut, seized, missing brace and snapped bolt. Some other things too but hey, it was a bargain.
Anyway - the frame. I’ve just given it a quick going over with some steel wool and autosol and it’s not too bad. The 6061 is nice and light and apart from a couple of patches that need wet sanding it’s pretty good.
L19232 is the serial number.
Does anyone know of any older Devinci models that this might match? I can barely find any info on their older bikes. I have reached out to them too to see if they know but I thought I’d tap in to the hive mind here too.
