New Merlin Titanium Mountain Tandem Frame. Frame was custom built in the original Merlin factory in Cambridge, MA. USA in 1993. This tandem was never built up and has been in dry storage since new!
I am the original owner of this rare tandem. It was expertly crafted by the same designer/builders who later formed Seven Cycles. It is in pristine condition as you can see in the photos.
The frame specs. are as follows: 26" Wheel, Seat tubes are 18.5" Captain/15.5" Stoker center of BB to top of Top Tube, Captain top tube length is 22.5"/ stoker length is 28", 73 degree seat angle, 72.5 degree head angle,
Head tube length is 4.875", 1.125" dia. head tube, chainstay length is 16.75", seat post dia. are 27.2mm, brake set ups are 6" disc or V-brake, not set up for both at the same time. Eccentric is early clamp style.
Seat top clamps are early welded QR or Bolt style.
Frame was designed to use a 80 mm travel fork or a mountain standard HD rigid fork for 26" wheel.
Frame weighs 7.3 lbs.
