An Intervention....long overdue

Thats some collection. Must of been hard to decide what goes. I had a cull over the summer, not on the same scale as yours, only selling 7 of my bikes. But to be honest, I feel much better for doing it, and appreciate all the more whats left. Plus the added bonus of collecting all again if I choose to do so.

Actually it wasn't as painful as I first thought.. we sat round the kitchen table, I made a list of bikes/frames with what they were for or why we had them on individual bits of paper.

They then opened a bottle of single malt... Glenfiddich I think it was....and got me drunk.

We started with the scrappers...then the donor frames, then the too small, then the too rough/too much work.

sorry that should have read Mormon

*other religions are available, your house is at risk if you set fire to it. Do not smoke in bed the ashes on the floor maybe your own. Use only as a calorie controlled diet.

I did something similar earlier in the year. Although I was starting with "around a dozen" bikes including the missus who had 3 bikes but almost never rode any of them. One of hers has gone, so has one of mine. Amazingly, it has spurred her into riding again. In addition, a frame has gone to someone on here.

It's far less painful that I imagined. The big issue for me is actually physically getting rid of them as the bike is my only form of transport. I have two recumbents and one needs to go - but would be impossible to post.

Of course, some kind friend is now offering me a full suspension specialised stumpjumper for gratis (despite my best efforts to dissuade him).

Good luck!

My Daughter = 2
My Wife = 3
Our Jimmy = 10

Yes the free offers are like crack cocaine..... :|

Ive also been on the clearout, mostly to fund another bike  , though an electric modern affair.
But it looks due to yours im going to be stuck with the '91 Claud Ventoux 400.

Hard times require hard decisions  , and Ive even taken the drastic steps of selling the vast majority of my Hope collection, and I'll be donating frames, forks and wheels plus the running gear to one of the recycle projects. Might want to consider that an option, and now more than ever they need donations of the type they can use to get more bums on saddles.

My end goal is one 'manual' bike, and one Ebike. And no piles of bits filling every nook and cranny.
