Marin were too mass produced to really hit the desirable sweet spot.

Solid bikes as they were, nothing but the top of the range models actually spark much interest.

...and you are right; they were mass produced but at the same time, well made. I liked them and their design. My primary objection was that their search for lower weight made especially the larger steel frames, too weak.

For me who is 6,2, a Marin steel frame was out of the question for that reason alone.

For smaller riders however, I would assume that the Marin bikes would be an excellent choice.
