Great - thanks for the tip. I might look at cutting some of the material away.

I'm also likely to get the frame properly resprayed as my DIY job is sketchy at best. Whilst that is getting done, I may take the opportunity to get a tab welded on, remove the rear brake bosses and cable guides and get a rear disc cable guide put on - all dependant on cost though.

Nice bike btw - looks very purposefull!
 
Yeah probably worth doing if you're stripping the frame. Disc tabs etc would make a neater job than the adaptor.

I love these old Kona frames mines a 1993. It's a lovely ride great geometry and light weight too. Worth holding on to and modernising I think.
