97 Marin Riftzone, Project 2000 Spec. FINISHED!

Well, she is done: Marian the Marin is finished. :D
Mostly.

To recap: the idea was to recreate as closely as I could within a fairly restricted budget, the bike I had back in 2000 that I got in late 96 with the money my dad left me.
There's only a couple of differences: I had bar ends on my bike back in 2000 - even with the risers. I haven't decided yet whether to go ahead and put some on.
The rear mech back then was the Black LX one, tyres and blocks and saddle. And the headset spacer was silver.

The way this bike is now, I love it. I've been riding whilst doing it up and I've been really impressed that an 18 year old bike can ride like this - it still feels new.

Compared to most of the other work here it's a bit scrappy but it's a big deal to me: perhaps next year I'll get the mainframe powder coated, and likely as not I'll keep an eye out for some better condition bits but I am very happy with her as she is now.
Fast, boingy and reasonably light, and a real blast to ride.
Feels perfect and gets some nice comments out on the trails.
Couldn't ask for much more really. :D
