I have a 1991/2 Raleigh in use as a fixed gear winter wonder. It has a slippy stainless steel seatpost that is a little short and has a useless clamp.
Anyone have a reasonably long 26mm post?
I've tried 25mm, and 25mm with shims, and 26.2 just won't fit, so I can only assume its 26?
My LBS measured the post and the hole with digital calipers and got a different reading for each, so I doubt this will be a straightforward operation.
The bike is made of raleigh special brew plain gauge 18-23 tubing, if thats any help, and the bb serial number is just numbers.
Any 26mm or slightly below would be considered, as long as its a reasonable length. A modern seat clamp would be ideal, but not necessary. Any colour is fine - this bike isn't for looking pretty.
Cheers
