262bhp

Late MK2.

Mainly being used as a country-lane mile-muncher. Proudly touting a TDI badge too :) And being a platform for a decent car audio build.

Luckily my daily car does 55mpg. So the couple of thousand miles a year this will cover it shouldn’t be too painful.

Lots of bits need sorting over winter to make it “right”. It was by far the best one I looked at but still not perfect for my ocd.

Issue is once they get to the age they are they’ve had a billion owners everyone leaves little bits not sorted. But I particularly wanted a gen1 manual rather than a later car.

Once I’ve got the rear end in bits for the exhaust I’m planning on a full service , gearbox selector replacement , and a few bits of paint.

I had a mk1 TT that had 270bhp by the time I finished with it and struggled to break 20mpg.

Enormous fun for pennies really. R8 is a different league in both performance and running costs! 😂

Hoping I can self maintain/ help from mates most the stuff to keep costs down a bit. And then to specialists for the bigger stuff / stamps in book when needed.

Big ticket items (tyres/brakes/AC) have been done recently apart from clutch is likely due at some point based upon mileage.
