Its with heavy heart I realise its time to move on my pride and joy
Its a 2001 Santa Cruz Bullitt, Medium (about 17"), it was purchased new by me from Alpine Bikes in Edinburgh and was built up to ride Downhill. I used it until 2005 when it was cleaned and serviced and dry stored in my garage. I took it out and ran it round the block every couple of months but it never ignited me like it had.
I'll sell complete or I may part it out. The Bullitt is a versatile frame, evolution of the Heckler and baby brother to the Super 8 and cost me £1200 for a bare frame and shock new. I'd hope to sell the frame and forks before selling the smaller components.... no dibs first with cash gets, uk sales preferred....
Spec is as follows
£300 - 2001 Santa cruz Bullitt - Powdercoated in metallic red (was originally black) Comes with a Fox Vanilla RC Coil for 6" travel with Kalloy Seatpost and Santa Cruz Seatclamp.
£150 - 7" Fox Vanilla RC with Custom shock shuttle, increases travel by 1", slackens the head angle and makes it better on faster tracks - this shock does need a service
£180 - 2002 "Cherry Red" Rockshox Boxxer 7" (last of the handbuilt's before SRAM took over) Internally perfect, stanchions have a couple of tiny nicks but have never lost oil or compromised performance, lowers have paint chips and a few marks but nothing to worry about and I have a set of original decals which I can throw in (these were £999 new!)
Cockpit
£60 - Chris King Rasta 1 1/8th Headset
£25 - Azonic World Force stem
£25 - Answer Pro Taper bars
£30 - Shimano XTR M952 Rear shifter
£5 - ODI Lock Ons
£10 - Kalloy 28.6 Seatpost
£15 - Bontrager "Big Earl" Seat
Drivetrain
£80 - Shimano XTR M952 cranks, 5 arm spider, Anno removed from front of arms after scuffing
£30 - XTR M952 BB 116mm (or buy Crank and BB for £100 or Crank, BB and Evil Guide for £150)
£55 - Evil SRS Clear 5 Arm bashguard with Backplate and mounting hardware (This is Pre E13 and prob one of less than 10 Evil branded guides in the UK)
£25 - Grossman Racing Pedals
£15 - Middleburn 38 tooth ring
£40 - XTR M952 Short cage rear mech (pretty rare)
£30 - XT 737 Cassette (almost like new)
Wheels
£80 - (F) Hope Big Un Blue 20mm bolt thru on Mavic D521 Silver (includes the rare Hope Top Hat Spacers that every Bigun owner seems to be looking for!)
£80 - (R) Hope Big Un - Blue 135 QR on Mavic D321 Grey/Black
£10 - Control Tech bolt up rear skewer
Maxxis High Roller 2.5" Tyres
Brakes can either be retroish C2's (#6 front) #3 Rear or slightly more modern, Mono M4 Front / Enduro 4 Rear however all will need a service as they havent been used for a while. The rotors are 205 F and 185 Rear (the 01 Bullitt can just run a 185 rear using a Big Un hub) normal hubs would be 165 rear.
Realsitically I spent £2500 on this back in the day and the frames regularly go for £300+ on Ebay. There is one tiny ding on the swingarm and the webbing that is a known crack point is fine on this one.
I have a full set of Decals (bought from Jungle via Edinburgh Bike Co-Op) that are the originals - I never got round to refitting since the bike was powdercoated (and ususally just used helitape when I was racing)
