1999/2000 Ribble, Reynolds 853

I have frames in Aluminium, Carbolite 103, 531, 853 and Carbon and have to say that the steel frames (even the heavier Carbolite 103) are all far superior to ride than the carbon and aluminium. My favourite is definitely the 853, light stiff but giving especially on todays road surfaces.

thats a great statement from some one who owns a £2000 carbon !
my trek sl 1000 alluminium is just about ready and i can do direct comparisons to my lemond glx.
reviews state that ally has got a type of dead stiff feel, but top end ally [cannondale] is better.
when i got my lemond back in the 90/s it added a totally new dimension to my riding, especialy climbing.
before i had a giant peleton chromolly that was one size too big .
i guess utopia would be a taylor made 853 or titanium ! ive still got the 'bio-racer' diagram .
well lets wish fireman d best wishes in getting a good price! and his further enjoyment of cycling with a
correct size frame !
