1995 Stumpjumper Flat Red

Proto2000

Retro Guru
Found this on Craigslist in SF area over the weekend, similar to my 96 S-Works except rigid fork. First pic is how I received it with all of the grime and computer cables zip tied onto the brake cable and fork, YIKES! Took a few days to clean it up and repack grease where needed. Tried to salvage the Umma Gumma grips but one was as hard as a rock and broke apart when I removed it, other is green now like the front tire which is still supple. After all work was performed I swapped in the M737 front mech, crankset and cassette. LX/Grip Shifts/Dia Comp bits are still on the bike. I was surprised how little it was used after talking with the original owner for about an hour and him saying this bike was ridden all over the west coast of the US so maybe he was more gentle on the bike than I would have been. Am considering some of those Ultradynamico Mars tires I just read about in another post but $170 is more than I want to spend, maybe some day.

I saw the post so made me think that this will help in some way. Plus I do like to put bikes I feel are worthy on here once I get them to a place where they can show well. Did you see the 96 I posted a while back? Here it is if you did not.
