The colours in the catalogues are confusing - but I think the tell is the Tange Direct decal, which the1994's did not have. I agree this is a 1993.

From 94 catalogue is only a small tubing image

Decal colours seem to be very close on both.

OP's color is yellow-green logos and grey outline
The one you've posted (from 1993) is burgundy w/ grey-pea green logos and plum outline.

I think OP's bike is a 1994. But...I think he has the M2 frame. Grab a magnet...

Magnet sticks: Chromo frame, base model Stumpy, blood red
Magnet no stick: M2 frame, mid model Stumpy, team red

Apologies to Original Poster who is trying to sell a bike and we've jumped on the thread with some forensics of which year it is from!

Although the 93 catalogue pic doesn't show the decal I refer to, the Tange Direct seat tube decal wasn't placed on 94 models, there was a Big "S" by 94.

Decal here on a 1993 FS Stumpjumper seat tube

Serial number would help identify the year.
In 1993 the steel rigid was available in "Burgundy" ; in 1994 it was done in Green (the more common colour) and "Blood Red". Its hard to tell which may be which based on historic pictures or catalogue pics - picture lighting could make them look similar

Ref M2's - the red 94 M2 drop outs would not look like these ones either. Plus the tubing looks like the steel width, not the wider M2

The 93 has a threaded headset ; by 94 they were using a 1 inch aheadset on these models.
Here's a steel 93 - showing the dropouts, Tange decal and threaded headset&fork steering tube.

Definitely a ‘93 as I suspected then. Threaded headset (used a quill adapter for the build), and burgundy. Thanks for the details and confirmation! Now just need someone to buy it so I can fund my ‘88 bianchi grizzly rebuild :) 14F44F23-813E-4070-AA1E-260F02D11075.jpeg
