1991 Otis Guy fillet brazed #138

Thanks!

The Rotary brake works actually great here. The roller design with the cable pull makes it great, especially the the SLR plus levers.

Re:

I do like the rotary and have it on a couple bikes, but in the end a roller or toggle cam are nicer IMO. Still your setup complements the frame. Still don’t like the angle on the brake cable but I guess there isn’t much you can do.

Re:

It's a stunning looking bike, but I don't think the silver rims and hubs work as well as the black did... just my opinion... ;) still super-cool though!

I quite agree - I think. I have a set of black grease guard hubs as well that I are going to build up soon. Might do black rims yes.

Long time and no progress - and then bom! Finished.

I finally found some great rims to fit to the black WTB Classic grease guard hubs - the Araya RM-14 in silver. The narrow racing rims are suited for this classic steel hard tail - in my eyes the ultimate retro bike and the bike I would choose if I had to own only one bike.

The build:
Frame: Fillet brazed Otis Guy s/n OG138
Fork: Otis Guy fillet brazed
Rims: Araya RM-14
Hubs: WTB Classic Grease Guard, black
Tires: Tioga Mud Dawg and Trail Dawg
Pedals: Shimano 737
Crank: Cook's with Shimano SG rings
Chain: Shimano
Rear Cogs: Sunrace
Bottom Bracket: Suntour
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT 732
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT 735
Shifters: Shimano M095
Handlebars: WTB Titanium
Grips: ODI Mountaineer
Stem: Interloc
Headset: WTB/Chris King
Brakes rear: Interloc Rotary
Brakes front: Interloc Switchback
Saddle: Selle Italia Turbo
Seat Post: IRD
Quick releases: Ringlé holey

I think I'm done wit this now. It rides like a dream and the brakes are so powerful that it almost feels like disc brakes.

Stunning Bjornar. I can see why that would be your number one choice.
