i MIGHT be able to get it welded for a few beers if that helps anyone?

Great. Mines a Guinness. ;)

On a serious note, a good (even drunken) welder could repair it and possibly make an improvement by adding some sort of collar / gusset on both sides.

Just seen this thread

I'm really gutted for you Steve - it always was a beautiful and unique (for me) bike which I truly believe Mark kept as his pride and joy (even taking into consideration his ex-Timmis Dynatech which was fantastic as well).

Enigma did my Vit as well; I heartily recommend them. For the size of crack on mine they managed to not only repair it and keep the shell round so that I could get a BB into it they also kept it looking fantastic as well. In fact when I tried to contact Vernon Barker they didn't return my calls nor answer my e-mails so they must be snowed under with work

Here's the before and after pics with Enigma work. Give Mark a call and I'm sure he'll see you right.

So today, the TiMega makes it's way back to Cumbria....

Mark was fantastic, offering me all of his posessions as compensation, and more. But I'm not greedy, and that's not fair on Mark either...

So I contacted a few Ti welding specialists.

1st one (Enigma) tells me they don't want to touch it as they wouldn't like to repair the bike, basically. Their reply was a lot more informative than that, but this isn't the place for it.

2nd one was a local motorsport fabricatiors, that specialise in Ti work. They CAN repair it, but it would involve a chuffing great brace up from the bottom of the drop-out up to the rear stay, at an angle. I'm sure that would be noce and strong, but would ruin the aesthetics of the bike.

.....And then there's my head... The crack would always be there in my mind, and I'd never be able to enjoy as I'd like to...

I'm gonna keep harping on about Mark, cos he's been just amazing through this whole ordeal (and I use the word 'ordeal' for both of us) which must be as difficult for him as it is me. And he's the one who's put most of the work into it..

So I hope Mark won't mind me saying that if anyone is interested in the frame, then maybe they should get in touch with him on here, and see what can be worked out.

Thanks Steve i appreciate your kind words. Not an easy time at all, i'm glad two grown ups were in this situation.

Dealt with the proper way by proper people.
Shame about the bike but good to see its sorted out properly not
like a full on public display over 20quid like today.
Decent people dont fight they just sort it out

Well I wanted to start this thread as a journey, but unfortunately the limiting factor was my head.. :(

And I'm so   at some of the defamatory comments previously on this post. It's embarrasing..
