I love this era of Rocky. Rode an orange and purple Avalanche around the basement of a shop BiTD, LOL! It was too small and out of my budget at the time.

Beautiful. I had the same pink and purple Avalanche back in the day, until somebody stole it out of the garage in '92 or '93 when my roommate went out and left the door up (thankfully they left a very expensive road bike behind, which I still have and use to race in vintage events). I replaced the Avalanche with a slightly used Rocky Mountain Experience, which I still have.
My Avalanche and I had many great, long, rides in the Rocky Mountains west of Calgary. Now when I ride those same routes on my suspension bike, 30 years later, I marvel that I used to do it on a rigid bike without giving it a second thought, especially on the fast, rocky, descents.
