1987 Vitus Carbone 9

I have completed restoration of a 1987 Vitus Carbone 9 that I purchased on eBay back in October.

This was obtained as a nearly NOS frameset and outfitted "Tout Mavic" to achieve an all-French component machine. Sourcing Mavic components is now quite difficult so until the "Mavic" marked versions can be obtained, Modolo marked brake levers have been fitted.

The build up weight is 17.8 lbs.

A full collection of photos, details of the component fit and some background on the machine can be found here:

Re:

I like your choice of the Mavic 630 crankset over the 631 "Starfish", the 630 is also 110 grams lighter than the 631  .

Fortunately, period correctness spared me the choice since the 631 Starfish hadn't come out in 1987 and yes, like so much late 80s early 90s componentry it was rather heavier than what it "improved" upon.
