Here is one bike that doesn't need a long drawn out restoration thread. A mint condition 1985 Mountain Klein. This bike has seen virtually zero miles (typical) ..

I'll take for a little spin just to say I have, but I don't plan on riding this bike. It'll remain a garage queen and I'm ok with that.

Neither I believe. It's a double pass weld.

'dale definitely sanded smooth the welds and waxed about it in the brochures. From the ones I've cut up, the welds were single pas with large fillets and good penetration.
I've never chopped up a klein though. I thought they were sanded for even stress distribution?

Kleins were double pass for sure. They did get some post processing though. I've seen bare frames with some evidence of sanding and filing.

Cool. I said I believe. Might have worded it better by saying I don't think they did... looks like they doublepassed then sanded... whatever, either way I do like this method of aluminum joinery.
