Thought I`d share this one with you guys on here.
I got this vintage Stumpy from the bay`( photo way below !! ), but it came with a major flaw............the BB shell was broken , not cracked as described in the listing, with the seat tube being completely loose.
The first two close ups give some idea of the problem. First of all I gave it a light bead blasting to clean the area. The next step was to repair the actual shell, this was done by TIG welding. Next I re-brazed the seat tube back into the shell, then another little bead blast to clean up again. The last two close ups show the job to date.
Next step is to get the dremel to work and polish it up ready for painting.
In two minds about the eventual build, wether to go with original spec or to go with period M700 !!
What ever happens I think its going to be a long project.
