I recently picked up a very nice Batavus professional frame. I had been thinking about looking for a nice frame from the early 80's and fancied something dutch or belgian - gazelle, merckx, etc, so when I saw this I jumped on it :) There's no tubing sticker on it but from what I've been told it's reynolds 531.

I'm gradually cleaning it up with car polish and lots of elbow grease, and it's turning out quite nicely. There are a few rust patches but nothing too disastrous, and I want this bike to have the original patina.

I've fitted a shimano 600 headset which might stay, but other than that the build will be a mix of zeus and campagnolo from the same time period (1984, give or take a year)

A few pics of the frame and fork with headset fitted :)

Re:

Quick pic with wheels, bar/stem and seatpost + saddle fitted. Still lots of cleaning to be done on the paint, but it's starting to look a little better. The bars and stem are only temporary

I need a longer post though :( the 3ttt one is at the limit in the pic, and I need another couple of cm.
