This will be great once done, you could also try MR Creations for paint. Mark is in Mansfeild and does all my bikes. Very reasonable I think.

While I've not given up hope of finding a bar end I thought I'd have a go at making one anyway. It's molded from milliput and once dry I'll be able to file, sand and paint it to match. Hopefully it'll look ok.

And stripped the paint from cranks, they were rough. Will get them resprayed with the frame.

Have you thought about trying to get a pair 3D printed ? Not sure if it would be cost efficient but would be much quicker.

But would I need a pair to scan/ measure? They're sided left and right. It would be great if someone knocked out copies, a lot of the unique ax stuff could probably be 3D printed.

Cleaned and serviced the derailleurs. Had a new old stock braze on front derailleur so I swapped the good bits onto the clip on that came with the bike as that was tatty. Rear was a bit of a pig to reassemble. Might be getting a pair of bar ends too, fingers crossed.

Toe straps and end caps arrived today, can't believe I've actually got everything I need for the build. Going to arrange the respray this afternoon. Buzzing.

More polishing. Novelty is wearing off. Frame is at the painters and may be done by the weekend so I need to get cracking.

And wheels cleaned and serviced. The plan is to build some aero section clinchers on the spare ax hubs I have, araya made some lovely ones back in the day, but I may go for some modern mavic or h plus son in polished silver.

Getting there. Thinking of custom decals, a mix of the Shimano ax decals as seen on promotional bikes of the period, and the classic road ace design.
