1980s Dawes Galaxy Brown paint match.

I saw online Ford Chestnut Brown was a good match for 1980s Dawes Dark Brown metallic. As you can see it isn't, it's too red.

Anyone know the correct colour?

Halfords mix car touchup paints in store using a sensitive balance, bottles of primary colours, and lookup tables that tell them how many grams of each primary colour to mix together. If you ask nicely you might be able to get a bit of the primary colours they use so that you can tweak the Ford Roman Bronze colour until it exactly matches.

The other option is to buy a few different tins of Humbrol enamel as used by modellers, and keep adding and mixing until the colour matches. They sell a metallic colour called Antique Bronze, so that might be a good base to start with.

For future reference Ford Roman Bronze is a good match.

My dad had a Ford Consul Granada in that colour. Was a real swine to colour-match when he kept scraping it on stuff.
