Sold Klein Adroit Gator 1992 MC1 complete frameset size 19"

Oh, I get it. If you have the money and the opportunity later in life to get something you really, really wanted when you were younger, that was always out of reach, for whatever reason, by all means go all-in to get it!

I've just done the same thing, at around half that price, and for something nowhere near as thoroughbred as an Adroit with an MC1.

It's all subjective, of course, I've just never liked how Klein's look. Not then, and not now. They just don't really do it for me. Even though I can admit to and appreciate the design and the innovation that went into them. They do tend to show up these days looking more like a design accent to a danish modern living room though, rather than a thrashed down a mountain, lovingly and regularly serviced riding machines!

That guy you talked about with the Ferrari? He's probably got one in the heated garage over at his lake house!

Oh, and I'm 38 by the way. Does that qualify or disqualify me for something? I reckon I'm old enough to understand the power of nostalgia, especially in regards to 90s mountian bikes. I mean, isn't that why 99% of us are on this site, building these bikes in the first place?

Did I sound like I was 22?

Thats a lot of explaining about why you dont like something in a thread about said thing.

You where 9 when this bike was sold. So no I doubt anyone expects you to get it.

No you don’t necessarily sound like you are 22 but you are making yourself sound like a hater and, quite frankly; a bit of a dick.

We all get that you don’t like Kleins, and that’s perfectly cool as you are entitled to your own opinion, but this thread was started to make fellow Retrobikers aware of the perils of using PayPal Friends & Family, and to draw awareness to supposedly dishonest and unscrupulous sellers in the community.

Your comments are just not constructive so please kindly keep your opinions to yourself. Thank you.

Is it that easy? maybe back in the Middle Ages but i thought we were past that.

So, someone you dont know tells you sort of a story about someone else you dont know and how they are now not to be trusted as apparently they betray people, yep, clear cut that one  🤦‍♂️

I was just referring to it's value when dealing with people in good faith.
It is not cool to be scammed the way he was.

I was just referring to the thread in general, not aimed at any particular person.

And please share exactly how, and how you know, this person was scammed, we would all like to know the actual story, not just gossip or hearsay which seems to be the case at the moment, and even that itself is very vague.

I don't know...I'm just trusting what was said here.
Maybe, I should re-phrase, "It is not cool if he was scammed in that way".

That is exactly why i posted the comment a few posts up. People are still eager to jump on the bandwagon and call others as a result of a comment made by someone else and before you know it a person can gain a reputation. I do not know what went off, nor do i think most do, certainly intriguing though.

There is no doubt a lot of controversy around the frame and certain members, including on this thread.
