Here's my three to start the ball rolling

Firstly a '98 STS-DS 1000 that has a Black Anodised rear end and an interesting Fox Float. This appears to have been modified by PUSH Industries and given a threaded outer casing to fit the trunion mount. I have sent PUSH an email just to confirm whether it was actually them that carried out this modification. Still waiting on the reply though Hopefully they still carry out such mods and can give me a current price.

C'mon you STS lovers I know you're out there

I'll start to add to this Gadro as I rebuilt mine from top to tail with new bearings and bushes. It doesnt have that kinked rear at the mo... I was faffing with locking it out as much as poss when I was taking pics. Just needs a granny ring at the mo!

Seeing all this Carbon and Aluminium makes me realise just how 'bling' these bikes look

Steve that build looks very clean. Love the look of that Kooka Crankset. How did you go about making the hydraulic hose line fit on the top tube cable guides? Zip ties? I resorted to drilling out the ones on my Lobo so I could fit snazzy Hope hose guides. Nerves of steel required though Resorted to simple 3M stick on ones on my DS. Not perfect but neat and tidy. Looking at your bike also makes me think how much I want amber wall tyres.

maxhc SOLD IT The internal cable routing of the earlier STS 1,2, and DH gave IMHO a far cleaner look. Nightmare if you lose that inner sleeve though as I found out on my old '97 DH. I also prefer the looks of the aluminium headtube compared to the all Carbon, it gives it a more balanced look although I know that this was a major frame failure point with lots of headtubes getting ripped off by longer travel forks

Gil_m can now do decals for the STS models, here's the ones he did for my Lobo

I've never really been a fan of the triple triangle GT's but these are very trick looking. I forget who owns it, but someone here owns the STS with the polished silver Aerospoke wheels (5 spoke) that is pretty stunning to look at.

Great start for what looks like a very comprehensive resource thread. Makes me think we should create something like that for the Klein guys too.

Ha, ha, yes ... so sad to sell it, but as seen in the pics, it was too big for me ( 19" ), the original I bought was an 18"; the one in the pics, was the only one in the Spain GT distributor to replace the cracked one, so, as they said: you can choose a Zaskar or a 19" STS ...

Just found a couple of what I think maybe an early STS rear suspension set-up. I think the bike may have been also still called the LTS at this stage. I could be completely mistaken and it's just simply a rear of an LTS-1 bolted on to a newer STS front frame. But it is sporting the non trunion mounted coil shock system.



I first came across Retrobike whilst searching for parts for my old Pantera, found what I was looking for and whilst browsing came across Chris's STS-1. Gobsmacked it was the first one I'd seen in years and just brought back memories of how badly I wanted one BITD

That's the one - Alain's. Jaw dropping and one I'd really like to have even though it's not aluminum and not painted in a flashy paint like the bikes I'm used to.

Have to admit to having a soft spot for the STS. And GT in general.

Here's a picture of one of mine. A 1997 STS-1, this is how it was originally built.



This is how it was built just before it was sold in around 1999.




The carbon framed LTS was indeed called the LTS carbon for 1996. Here's a (cracked) frame I was given and used during my final year degree project.



The frame was rideable. Ended up giving it to another RB member in 97 or 98. He flogged it very soon after.

If I ever feel the need for another retro full susser I suspect it might well be a STS. Or SAB
