Welcome to another edition of retrobike's blue riband event - Bike of The Year. Winner will get some exclusive retrobike merchandise. Voting ends 15th Jan 2009.

Onto the entrants. Another strong year for BoTM will see a difficult decision for voters. As per previous year as well as the 12 monthly winners there are also a series of 'mod picks' to give a few worthy BoTM runners up a chance

Hot damn it's a tough call - the Yo, Zieleman and Lemond in particular standout and the latter two were also rans in their competitions

First reaction is usually a good indicator though so will go with the Yo (Zieleman 2nd, Lemond 3rd).

thanks guys.
I guess it ain't that bad if you get mentioned twice in the BOTY poll ;)

After the win in the BOTM September i found the missing front Paul mech, so now it is completely finished,..

view Serotta ATX with new red Paul front mech

and could a mod replace the picture above from the Defiant with one of these?
the other one is not that good,..

proper Boulder picture (now up in post #1)

thanks again,...

and talk about hard poll's,.......boy o boy ,..this one is!

Defiant, is there a bottle boss stopping you lowering the front mech (paul) closer to the chainring ?

I must say that the first cook brothers crank I actually like :o

The SAB of Dr. S for me. Hard choice as I like Archangels Klein and Skide's Funk too. Where was the Raleigh Diablo in the 'purple' month would of got my vote everytime!

no, it is the radius of the blade against the shape of the silver metal part of the Paul . It is not the same and therefore it can not get any lower , otherwise it eats the theath.

This is tough. I want to vote for the one that I would most like to own. That would be Bas' Boulder Defiant. The problem I have is if it wins the chances of him selling it to me will be even smaller!

I'm going to mull it over some more.
The standard has certainly been raised this year and this competition is just going to get tougher and tougher.

Si

All pretty bling there...

The Zaskar is most wow factor for me, all purple/ping and explodes into a rainbow at the cranks impressive Art work 8) .
But Gumps ticks so many actual retro bike boxes for me that it jumps out as being my fave. hmm, back later to actually vote

This is tough. i am going to have to think it over for a few days.

Regarding the Dave Lloyd i have replaced the saddle with a genuine 'Dave Lloyd' one.

Dave Lloyd with new original Dave Lloyd saddle (now up in post #1)
