Well this is definitely the first bike I've seen with a disc brake on the front and a U-brake at the back - nice balanced combination! A 1991 Hope disc is a touch of class and no mistake.

hmmmm.... that front brake is a bit iffy, I have some original Hope mounting kit around - give me a while and i will dig it out

I found spd cleat bolts work well as low pro disk bolts

Great job 'Ken' - looking good. Amazing what a difference the white decals/cranks and lack of bottle cages make. It looks so much lighter.

Red outer ring will finish it off a treat. RAF

the cranks were black when I got them back in 90/91 sprayed them yellow when I got the xizang then this time sprayed them white - 7 coats of undercoat and 4 coats of enamel same as last time and that didn't rust in 15 years.

LeGrande.. any hope mounting stuff would be great - hope ran out of the mounting plate a few years back, mine is a repair job with 2 2mm titanium coated screws running through the plate and "cast" JB weld, it was originally a template for a recast of the whole part but It is reallt strong and I can't afford the cast at the moment.

Overall it is a bit front heavy with the disk and forks but my arse is bigger nowdays so it balances out

thanks for the comments.
