Fitting grips to CF bars

Anyone any ideas if the hairspray method is safe for fitting grips to CF bars?

If not i'll try one of the other solvent free methods...

I wouldn't risk it. I use saliva on bar and grip works a treat on my use atom bar

I use a air line to blow! all mine on. (If you have access to one)

Sounds like good advice. Some poor bleeder wrote into a flyfishing mag having tried to free two sections of a Hardy rod (think top range bike) with WD40 and not only are the now welded together but have gone soft as well. D'oh!

I emailed AnswerManitou (they're Hyperlite bars), here's the response i got:

Hairspray is fine, because the bars have a clear-coat over the carbon.
You're not actually putting hairspray on the carbon fibers or the epoxy,
just on the clear-coat. If you're still worried about it, simply use an
air compressor with a blow nozzle to slide them on (my personal favorite
method).
