Sums me up beautifully.

Like yourself i cant just sit back and agree with people of something i dont agree with.

Finally in a job now where I can see myself staying a reasonable time as they actually listen when i disagree with stuff instead of just ignoring \ disciplining me.

yep, i feel very similar to what you have described! god there's loads of us!!
