1992 Orange Clockwork. *Update, 21/04/24.*

Re:

To be honest most of the parts are pretty similar in condition. The Suntour silver headset is actually better that the XT but needs a clean. I had thought around those lines with Suntour except for the rear mech, headset and shark fin but then lean back towards the XT crankset and it all gets confused again!

I guess the key is if I go full polished finish or add some black. That's the biggest decision but also the one I can't decide on.....

Re:

Had an hour to myself today so cleaned up the headset and bottom bracket and fitted them. Both are not perfectly smooth but are useable. Being a idiot I've managed to lose the original headset canti stay so will have to pinch another.

I need to deep clean and polish the crank but just put it on to decide which way to go and think I'm going for the full Suntour build first so lots of polished bits. Starting to think they make the frame the centre of attention so we'll see.

Suntour is deffo the way to go, I’m desperate for a Suntour build, I nearly feel shimano’s been done by us all so loving seeing Suntour on a clockwork, I very nearly did it back in the day but bought a mk2 golf instead !! Still regretting it as with all mk2’s in the 90’s I went through a hedge !! and murdered it !! Would have done better with Suntour
