Anybody used Google's new Chrome browser?

yes , but you still use your work network to connect to the internet ?

Yes, still uses your work connection, its NOT a bypass

does it mean I can surf retrobike all day safely ?

The internet traffic will still go out through your companies filters so NO.

It's just a convenient place to keep all your RetroBike files and web site favourites without them being scattered all over work PC.

I've just downloaded Firefox to give it a go. Is it any good or is I.E.6 about the same :?:

For gods sake don't use IE6! Slow, unsecure and a tendency to crash.

Firefox 3 is the goods (used both FF1 and 2, but FF2 was not very good imo). The only issue is some Microsoft sites don't seem to work properly (hmm what a surprise) so I keep IE7 installed for those. Why don't I use IE7 all the time then? Cos it's slower and I like Ad Block Plus in Firefox!

Don't really want to use Chrome, Google is the new MS. That's not to say it's a bad browser though, haven't used it so can't comment.

I checked and it's I.E.8

So, back to Firefox, it's recommended then :?:

Firefox is very highly recommended.

You may want to add these add on's (extensions) too:

Adblock plus
Adblock filter set G updater
customise Google
PDF download (lets you view PDF's as HTML, works most of the time) smoothwheel (smooth scrolling of web pages with your mouse wheel)

I also use the littlefox theme as it shrinks the toolbars to a nice small size.

All are available on the Mozilla website.

Just added:
Colourful tabs
All-in-one side bar
Flashblock
Fast Video Download
Side bar grab thingy

Seems to be quicker loading pages so far also

had a play while working on 2 laptops today i like and i dont like if that makes sense its faster than FF and IE and Safari but at the mo it isnt cookie infested so will see whats like in a few days it does however load the gallery and archive section faster than any the other browsers on here but i cant use that as a comparason as i aint used it for ages as did me head in being so slow.
