COTTER PINS how to remove?

A cotterpin press will make removing cotterpins much easier:

If you have a vice you can use that,,Find a suitable spacer (socket) place this on the non-threaded side,the spacer needs to be long enough to allow the pin to not foul the vice jaw,place the whole lot in the vice and just wind away,,

I now have a vice and no longer use the hammer method which is just asking for greif.

I've use so many methods all time consuming and frustrating. The cotterpin press makes it so easy to remove cotterpins!

Undo the nut half a turn inbetween each hammer chorus, the threaded section is much less likely to bend that way.

I've tried that too, the threads strip, the cotterpin bends. Use a proper tool to do the job or get a properly equipped bike shop.
