(they were out before the 80's, Do people still use frame fit pumps?.
I'm talking about the micro co2 cartridges Tel! I know all about the old ones and yes some people use frame-fit pumps

I use a frame fit pump, and also use CO2s. I have never found they expire . I only use the CO2 if a) it is freezing cold and I want to get moving again asap or b) I'm riding in a group who are waiting.

Otherwise I will use the pump, mini pumps are rubbish unless you want to ride at 60psi and pump the things 1000 times ...

I have had good results with the park tools self adhesive patches but they are not a permanent solution, for that traditional feather edge patches are best.

That said I always carry a spare tube (2 in winter) so it's only a very bad day when you have to resort to patches on the roadside.

I carry three spare tubes throughout the year and panic even if i puncture
just once and at the cafe stop i'll mend the punctured tube

Had an epic puncture episode last year... Three tubes punctured - Three tubes repaired - Three tubes punctured - Home[just]

You need better tyres. I luckily rarely get a double puncture. Jinxed now ...

I use a Mosquito pump. Its a mini pump with a CO2 cartridge inside. Brilliant idea as you can use the pump even after you have used up the CO2.
