BITD whatever bike you had you upgraded it with whatever your budget would stretch to. I had a Raleigh Outland (hi-ten frame, weighed a ton), but I still stuck better bits on it, ever an LX rear mech. It was what I could afford at the time doing a paper round. Still it got me all over the Quantocks & Exmoor!
If you want to put a load of XTR kit on it good on you! I would have said that even if it was fairly far down the Kona scale, it's still a fookin good frame set compared to what else you can buy new today!
